Requirements & Benefits

LDT students are invited to join the Agency at any stage of the LDT program. No experience required. Join us to expand your experience, your portfolio, and your network with potential employers.

FIVE requirements apply to all students participating in INTE630 and/or the Learning Agency.

(1) You assume full responsibility for the following items. You are in the driver's seat of your learning experience. You plan, schedule, and coordinate the following requirements for your project(s).

(2) Approval & Application.

  • Apply to the Learning Agency. Tell us about your intentions.
  • Receive instructor pre-approval for your project / internship / interests. Do not begin without instructor approval.
  • Complete the Agency onboarding.

(2) Document Your Hours - EVERY WEEK. Tell us what you did and how many hours taken to do it. If you have 0 hours for a given week - submit 0 hours for the week and tell us why there were no hours. DO NOT SKIP.

(3) Feedback Surveys. At 30 hours and at 60 hours a feedback survey will be sent to your project supervisor(s). These require completion.

(4) Check-Ins. At 45 hours and at 90 hours you are required to check-in. You are responsible for arranging your own check-in with your faculty. You may:

    • Post a reflection or un-essay to the FieldNotes blog.
    • Coordinate a 1 hour Zoom discussion with faculty + 2 additional Agency students.

(5) Demonstrate Pro-Active Project Management. You are responsible for meeting deadlines, gathering details, and coordinating with your project supervisors and your faculty.

ABOUT SURVEYS

Surveys will be sent automagically to project supervisors when you hit 30 hours and 60 hours on a given project. They will be asked to provide feedback to the student and private feedback to faculty. Feedback to faculty will not be directly shared with students and will inform mentoring and coaching as needed.

AGENCY BENEFITS

These benefits apply only to students working directly in the Learning Agency.

AGENCY SOFTWARE

Students in the Agency have access to the following software packages for their Agency work, and by extension for use in their LDT coursework. Some software has limited seats and is reserved for Agency projects in need.

  • Articulate 360 is an all-in-one e-learning platform that enables rapid creation, collaboration, and distribution of interactive workplace training using AI-enhanced tools like Storyline 360 and Rise 360.
  • Canvas LMS is a cloud-based, open-source learning management system by Instructure that streamlines digital learning through intuitive course creation, assessments, communication tools, and seamless integrations for K–12, higher education, and corporate training environments.
  • Descript is an all-in-one audio and video editing software that lets you edit recordings like a text document, complete with transcription, multitrack editing, screen recording, and AI tools.

All LDT students have access to the Adobe Creative Suite and TechSmith Camtasia by default.

AGENCY SCHOLARSHIPS

Some projects may have scholarships attached, but most do not. IF you meet the following criteria you may receive a $1000 scholarship at the end of a given semester.

  • Document your hours every week. Even 0 hours.
  • Receive satisfactory surveys from project supervisors at 30 hours and 60 hours.
  • Complete your check-ins at 45 hours and 90 hours.
  • Manage yourself, your projects, and your clients efficiently, per the criteria outlined on this page.
  • Document 100 hours of work in the Learning Agency.

Scholarships are paid near the close of each term as long as the FIVE REQUIREMENTS are met consistently, on time, and without prompting.

You - the student - are responsible for making sure these things happen.

You do not have to be enrolled in INTE6930 to be in the Agency. LDT students are invited to join at any stage of the LDT program. This is experience, some monies, portfolio building, and often times - working with potential employers.
